What a wonderful family!

We are so blessed to have such a loving family.

Can you imagine twenty five people and seven dogs spending five days in one house? That's my family. We always have loved getting together and it's not unusual for us to throw a air mattress on the floor. But in Diane's basement there were six queen air mattresses piled up like the Princess and the Pea's bed. I don't know how the house held us all but every available space was being used. Lucky for us it is a large house.

And we all got along splendidly..no fighting or fussing...not even among the little ones. There is just so much to do there. Chris brought two kayaks and three bicycles. Steve from Long Island brought the SeaDoo. There was boating, tubing, swimming, fishing as well as playing pool. And also a lot of lounging on the hammock and porch swing.

Sara and Molly became best friends. Sara brought the two dolls I bought her and all her doll clothes. We played fashion show and then Molly and Sara put on make up for their Makeover show. The boys of course played run around and jump on everything.

The food was extraordinary. Chris cooked Belgian waffles one morning and Ryan make scrambled eggs with peppers and onions the next. Diane made a breakfast casserole too. Each day we took turns making dinner. Vicki made delicious barbequed chicken pulled sandwiches with asparagus one evening. I made stuffed peppers and Chris made the most delcious hamburgers that anyone had tasted. In case you are interested here is his recipe...

Add to taste..

Paula Deen's Bourbon Sauce (he bought this online)

Sweet Baby Ray's chili wing sauce

McCormick's Applewood Seasoning

Add some breadcrumbs to hold the burgers together because they will be so juicy.

Corn on the cob, macaroni and potato salad, Chicken pot pie, ham and scalloped potatoes, homemade ice cream and blueberry cobbler, ....the list goes on and on. We were never lacking for food and everyone laughed about the abundance.

The lake....where children's memories are made!

OH, and did I mention the hot tub?
