Tick tock

Oh, my God. What if you wake up some day, and you're 65 or 75, and you never got your novel or memoir written; or you didn't go swimming in warm pools or oceans because your thighs were jiggly or you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life, of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? It's going to break your heart. Don't let this happen.  ~ Anne Lamott

Time is a-passin’. Tick tock. It may be just me but at this stage of my life it seems the days are flying by like a train not stopping at my station. I frequently say…where did this month go? I’m living a full life…doing whatever I want, taking advantage of every opportunity. But I ask…can I do more? Am I doing all I can? I yearn for that great adventure before its too late. Above my computer I have this quote…

“One day, you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted.  Do it now”  Paulo Coelho

I know how things can change on a dime. I am blessed with good health right now. I think it’s time to start planning something.

  1. Ohhh sigh.... I just don't "get into" all this.... "Time is flying and I have to do, do, do.." And "I have to empty my Bucket List..." And "there are so many less days, than there were before..."

Every single day... That day, is all we can be sure of. Actually, every single minute... That minute is all we can sure of. Every single day/minute of our lives. So why do we pick a certain age, to start stressing over TIME?

This later time, is "supposed" to be one of less stress, of calm, of reflection, of ... whatever we want it to be.

But do we want it to be marred, by stress over how much time is left? And how much more can I pack into whatever time I have left?

    Just me.

And I know, we aren't supposed to do anything in comments, but agree.

So delete this if you wish. :-)))))

    1. Hey, Tessa. You can say anything you want on my blog. One thing I know about you is that you will tell your truth. I'm sorry this sounded stressful to you. It wasn't intended that way. Just wanted to say Carpe Diem.

  2. You are so good for me. Today I said no to a volunteer position in a club to which I belong. I have been gently getting out of other volunteer jobs too. I am feeling burned out. I need to make more time for me to do some writing and another little project. But for both of these I need time for me and the projects that I want to accomplish.

  3. Good for you, Becky. It took me a long time to learn to put myself first. I can see from your blog that you are a very busy girl. Just look at your calendar! You have to give yourself permission to have time to do the things you want. Have a great time at the beach.
