Rise up

YOU ARE FIRE!! ☀:

What is this? I’m sleeping in. That is so highly unusual that I had to comment on it. I have a sleep pattern. I need lots of sleep so I’m usually in bed by nine watching tv. My usual nighty night time is ten. I drift off comfortably at that time. If I go past it I find it hard to get to sleep. Then between six and seven I wake up refreshed and get up.

Happy Saturday!! I am up before the rest of the family for some 'me' time!! This quote resonated with me because when I set my intentions for the day and I spend time reading first thing in the morning I have a better attitude for the day! So this morning it's personal development first! -you might wake up feeling rusty from the week! You might be exhausted from the grind of your 9-5 being a parent or being the taxi driver to your kids. But remember that when you feel your soul you begin to sweep off the dust and shine again!! Start your day with positive intentions!!

I drift into my morning easily usually checking my email, reading or watching a show I missed the night before. But lately I’ve been unable to get to sleep early, waking up during the night and can’t fall back to sleep or sleeping in way past my getting up time. I feel groggy and it’s  hard to get started in the morning.
...:

When your body gets out of rhythm you look for reasons. So when I woke up with a stuffy nose I knew I had seasonal allergies. It is time to start some medicine. But in my heart I knew it was more than that. My best friend Kay had major surgery yesterday. We thought she was on her way to recovery in a specialty hospital in Erie when her bloodwork went haywire. She had a large hematoma on the wall of her intestine. After surgery she was given a 160% chance of death. But then yesterday a miracle happened. Her bloodwork came good, the sepsis was gone and she opened her eyes. She still isn’t out of the woods but she is holding. Kay is on her fifth life now. She has died four other times and been revived. She is a fighter. So when I can’t sleep I know that is the reason.

This has been an extremely stressful time. With Don, Sadie and Kay I have used up five years worth of worry. Quote on anxiety: I will breathe. I will think of solutions, I will not let my worry control me. I will not let my stress level break me. I will simply breathe. And it will be okay. Because I don't quit. -Shayne McClendon. www.HealthyPlace.com:

    oh peggy
your dear friend kay. how inspiring she is!
    i love the McClendon quote.
i too require lots of regular sleep to feel well.
in the past two years my sleep pattern is rather erratic.
i'm finally getting used to THAT as a new pattern in itself!
like churchill said... age requires courage.
or as bette davis purportedly said... "old age isn't for sissies."

  2. So sorry to hear about your friend. Sending well wishes to her and also for you to get some good sleep. I need my sleep too and know how miserable it is when you can't sleep, especially when you have a lot on your mind. You found some great quotes. :)

  3. Oh, Peggy! I am constantly amazed at what everyday people surmount in their daily lives. Your Kay has certainly been through it. Sending you, Don, and Sadie hugs, and also more prayers for your friend! Take care!
