I love January. The cold is a good excuse to sit and read. With my funky eye I have drastically cut down on the books I read I find that if I open a book and it reads like every other book I've read I don't bother continuing. I need a really good story to keep me going. I'm looking for one like The help. One that you can't put down. Any suggestions?
i'm so glad you're doing well!
ReplyDeletebooks are my friends.
i cannot imagine my world without them.
i read for many reasons. too much to go into here!
i haven't read one that "i simply can't put down!" in a long time.
i often have more than one going!
and all different. odd i know.
What an inspiring collection of quotes about reading by authors I know and love! I must read every day! Right now I'm rereading Dan Simmom's Hyperion/Endymion series. I read all four books again before New Year's, and then I turned right around and started rereading them again ~ a tall order since each book is about 450 pages long. I consider "The Hyperion Cantos," as the books are sometimes referred to, to be some of the finest science fiction ever written ~ possibly the finest! I don't know if SciFi appeals to you, but if it does, I highly recommend this series. Have you ever read "The Shipping News" by E. Annie Proulx? That is amazing and is set in one of my favorite places, Newfoundland. Happy reading. I hope you funky eye improves!
