Merry Christmas 2021

Merry Christmas my friends. I apologize for not posting a lot this past year. Covid has affected a lot of our lives and my blog has been one of the casualties.  My life has slowed down and I haven’t felt much like blogging. Even our Christmas was very quiet with just Chris and Wendy coming up for the weekend. Chris even commented that I didn’t even take a picture of the lovely spread that I put out for Christmas Eve.  Wish  you could have seen it.

A neat tissue holder that looks like books.

Wendy loves cats and puzzles.

Don with his favorite...malted milk balls.

I had a nice surprise from Don. Chris brought us an electric player piano a few months ago but out old piano bench was not high enough for me to play comfortably. So Don gave me an adjustable bench seat. Now I will really enjoy playing.  I hope to do more of that this new year. In fact I want to make more time for painting too. And reading. I think I might enjoy this quiet winter.

I hope you will have a safe and healthy new year and we will defeat this Covid once and for all.

Poetry

Wherever you go…

Starting here, what do you want to remember?

How sunlight creeps along a shining floor?

What scent of old wood hovers, what softened

sound from outside fills the air?

Will you ever bring a better gift for the world

than the breathing respect that you carry

wherever you go right now? Are you waiting

for time to show you some better thoughts?

When you turn around, starting here, lift this

new glimpse that you found; carry into evening

all that you want from this day. This interval you spent

reading or hearing this, keep it for life -

What can anyone give you greater than now,

starting here, right in this room, when you turn around?
