Dan runs his first 5k

My grandson Dan who lives in Pittsburgh ran his first race today.

His fiancé Gretchen has been a runner since she was nine years old and regularly competes in races and finally got dan to try one.

Gretchen went on to do a 15k.

I love this picture of the two of them. Gretchen, I hope you don't mind me stealing a few of your sister's pictures from Facebook.

  1. Hi Peggy! I've just been reading all your posts and making sure I didn't miss any. You could say I'm binging on Season-to-Season. You are such a prolific poster! It's fun to read a big batch of your posts ~ It gives me a rounded view of all your passions.

Congrats to Sean for the pine box derby win! What a joy it must have been for his dad to build the pine box derby with Sean and then to see him win! I always enjoy the photos of Sara and Sean. So much love and warmth oozes out of your photos and words, Peggy. Your corner of the world is so warm, cozy, and rich, and it's because of all that love and creativity that you spread around.

I love doing jigsaw puzzles, but I haven't done one in a while. I used to do them with my great grandmother. I wanted to reach through the photos and help Don. I may go dig out one as soon as I finish this comment! Is there a word for jigsaw puzzles you've bought and haven't done?

I'm glad that you came through that fall okay. The thought of falling scares me, and yet I'm always doing risky things.

I love all the untranslatable words you have been sharing. I do think we have all become quite disconnected ~ but then, blogging makes it possible to make new friends all over the world. I wouldn't never have met you without blogging, and I'm so enjoying getting to know you, even though I'm erratic. Sometimes I think my life is me doing the herky jerky on the end of a spinning cracking whip!

Happy spring to you! I'm glad that you're all working through cabin fever and getting out into the open again ~ right down to little "bad" Sadie!

Terry and I had an awesome time in Hawaii, but it's so good to be home again. Take care!

  2. Thanks for posting about the race!! I'm so proud of Dan and he did such an amazing job :) Take all the pictures you want (although my mom posted them, not my sister. She'll love that you said that though!)
