My Plan for Spring

It’s a beautiful 60+ degrees outside and my thoughts are turning to being able to get on the porch (or breezeway as I call it). It is by far my favorite place in the world. I always love the day that we get the porch swing out of the shed and hang it up. That signifies the official start of the “good” season.
It’s the perfect spot for idling. I can pass away a whole afternoon doing hardly anything just sitting on the swing reading or dwadling. It’s even perfect in the warm evenings.
Courtyard nights are my favorite. Just listening to the fountain, hearing soft music from the speakers, and sipping on some iced tea puts me in a great mood.
It won’t be too long, will it? I’m so ready to get back outdoors.

Books

Becky Ryan asks on her blog..What were the last three books that you read   My reading is sporadic lately. Seems there are other things to do and with my bad eye (it’s better now than it has been in a long time, but I still can’t read out of my left eye) I don’t seem to be the voracious reader that I once was. 
   My last three books would be: Eternal on the Water (it just HAS to be a movie. I can’t wait); The Sixth Man by David Baldacci; and I read an organizing book.

Random wanderings of the mind

Some days there just isn’t anything exciting to blog about. Thank you all for hanging in there through those times. So today’s post will just be randomness.

Ok…I’ve fooled around on the computer long enough…time to get something done today!

It’s a snowy afternoon with cold temperatures so it’s a perfect day to sit in front of my computer and practice some of the techniques I have been learning about Photoshop.

Creativity Lessons

One thing that Kim has encouraged me to do is step out of the box and learn new things. Every week on Mondays and Thursdays a new lesson shows up in my email. Monday’s lesson was how to change a photo to black and white and then bring back color in specific places. Here is my first attempt. Here are some other pictures of Sean with his cake.

Dreamy

Today’s lesson from Kim Klassen was to take a photograph and give it a dreamy look. I took a picture of the calla lilies that I bought in Tennessee. You can roll your mouse over the picture to see the before.  Also don’t be alarmed if all my posts disappeared on you. When I put the before and afters in I have to use a different method and the old posts go away. You can still see them by clicking on them at the sidebar of my blog. sorry about that.

Spring Tablescape

Look what arrived in the mail from my sister Linda..what a sweetie!! Just the makings for a centerpiece for my table.
I’m so ready for Spring and am happy to see the bunny and lettuce taking center stage on my table.
The napkins make the table look like Easter.

Summer Dream

Isn’t this beautiful? It’s Susan Branch’s little garden. I just love picket fences. So much that I had Don create a little area for me right outside our back door.
I love my little garden area and can’t wait till the flowers pop up once more.

I even like the fence in the middle of winter too. 

Wait.  Let’s get back to the flower pictures. Since being in the 73 degree temperature last week I am longing for spring and color.

Back in Bradford

Hello my friends. This morning Don and I are back from Tennessee. We were there a week helping my grandson Sean celebrate his 4th birthday.

And of course there was a lot of baby hugging!
