Do you remember these little horses and men? It was a blast from the past when we saw a box full of these at a small flea market. When I was young these were my toys of choice. Each man (and horse) had a name and our imaginations ran wild. In those days westerns on black and white TVs were very popular.
How is Covid treating you these days? I am still staying at home most of the time. There is a weekly trip to the grocery store and daily coffee in only one restaurant each day with friends. A walk each morning for a mile with my girlfriend. I must admit I am lamenting for the life I’ve lost and want to get back to normal soon.
I don't really remember those toys as I had 3 sisters, no brothers but I grew up on westerns or horse operas as my father called them. Even today RH and I still watch them especially the ones directed by John Ford.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how you felt with the boat driving away when there are so many family memories wrapped up in it. Perhaps it will go on to give good memories to another family. My heart goes out to your husband. It is so hard for men not to be able to do what they once were able to do. RH only works with our son for a few hours a day now and yesterday was feeling bad that he can't help the way he used to. It discourages him and is sometimes hard for me to lift his spirits. And I know that this time of isolation due to the virus is hard on you, as much as you always liked to be busy. I think it's been easier for someone like me who is already a little bit of a hermit. But even I miss family birthday celebrations and wonder about the holiday season that will be here before we know it. What will it be like?
