Yes, it's just a weed. It grows in vacant lots and on the side of the highway. It comes up voluntarily in the fields and at the edge of paths. It requires no care at all as it thrives in all summer weather.
The lacy flowers it produces in profusion resemble baby's breath and look so beautiful among the more pedigreed blooms from the garden.
So what defines a weed? What makes it a flower? Doesn't it depend on your point of view?
A weed is but an unloved flower.
