There is nothing better on these cold days than sitting with a good book. I just finished Patterson’s Criss Cross and almost finished Steven King’s The Institute these past few days.
Oh how that first picture pins me down! And I need to give myself permission more to be the second picture and just give myself over to hours of reading. I used to, used to be a bookaholic, hardly tearing myself away long enough to get anything done when I had a good new book in my hand. Now it seems like just getting the basics done each day only leaves before bed time for my reading.
The freeway exit image made me laugh, Peggy. I'm slogging through Umberto Eco's "Baudolino." I had to restart it several times, the last time after 134 pages. It's set in the 1150s +++, and I had to google like crazy to really understand it all. It took me a while to grasp Eco's humor and playfulness. I have found that Steven King is an uneven writer. Some of his books are brilliant, and others are duds. I've been through a rough patch in the last six or seven weeks. It's been a little overwhelming. Wishing you lots of time to read.
