Have you ever lived in a place for a long time and yet never seen it? Our town of Bradford is nestled among many hills and the valley space is taken up with the town. One hill in Bradford is Oak Hill where there is an old cemetery. I have seen it from the four lane highway many times but have never been to the top.
Yesterday Chris and I took our cameras and explored. This is the view from the top. You can see the four lane that leads into town in the background. In the middle is the refinery which takes up miles through the middle of the valley. Bradford is a rather famous oil town. In the past there was a great oil boom and our town was very prosperous.
At the top of the hill is this Fireman’s memorial statue.
I also captured some flower pictures there.
It's wonderful to treat our own area, as a place to be explored.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's true of most people... That there are places, which they have never explored, mostly, because they are local.
We all could think local and find the places, which are still waiting for us....
And they make great Photo Ops too!!!
