Lazy days of summer

Remember that song…roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer? That’s how I felt this weekend with all the activity.
  Yesterday we had another fantastic day when we traveled to nearby State Park and Red House Lake.
It is a beautiful lake and we took a picnic lunch.

How relaxing! We ate, went out in the canoe and kayaks, played games and enjoyed the perfect weather.


Oh, did I mention eating ice cream?


Dan and Gretchen and Chris rode their motorcycles over. A great day for a ride.

Someone had made a row of sandcastles on the beach. This little girl made a darling picture.


This is a special spot. At the boat house they rent out canoes, rowboats, and kayaks as well as bicycles. But most people bring their own.
There were families all over playing various ball games, reading, swimming, boating and having great fun.

Our fun didn’t end there.  After a whole afternoon of relaxing we headed to Ellicotville, NY to the ski slopes. The Buffalo Philharmonic put on a musical performance followed by fireworks to their music.

In typical western New York fashion as soon as the sun went down everyone grabbed their jackets.
