Isn't this a happy chocolate mold. I have a few in my collection that I bring out at Easter time.

Do you have any special items that you bring out this time of year?
It's snowing again today....when will Spring actually get here with warm weather?

  1. I love the chocolate molds! I remember giving my m-i-l a lamb cake mold years ago. I don't have much storage here for seasonal things but I did bring out some Beatrix Potter books the other day and other spring themed books and a green rabbit garden statue that was under a bush here when we moved in. She holds up a cup-like flower so I will put a few eggs in it. And I hope a trip to Trader Joe's will give me some tulips for the Easter table as we don't have any here.

    1. Wow, that published before I was finished! I just hope that the snow is winding down there but I remember the first Sunday in April here about 15 years or so ago that it snowed. If it can do that in Nashville I know it probably can where you are.

  2. I've never used a chocolate mold, and now I'm wondering how you get the chocolate out of the mold. You collection is darling, Peggy. I have handprinted flower plates from the Franklin Mint. They're at least 40 years old. There is one for each month, so very soon I shall be exchanging March for April. That's my big decorating event! LOL

  3. I have no idea about how you do that. These are all reproductions but I liked the way they look.

  4. One decoration I always do is an Easter Egg tree. About two weeks before Easter, I cut several stems of forsythia and pound the end of the stems well with a hammer. I then place them in a large heavy vase and position the vase in the middle of a large green metal tray. The forsythia is decorated with little wooden Easter eggs, bunnies and birds. In about 2 weeks the forsythia will bloom. Around the base of the "tree" I place African violets in bloom, filling the nooks and crannies around the pots with sphagnum moss.
