The last week passed so quickly and so much was done is such a short time. Chris stayed till Monday and the boys worked so well together. They both have such good skills. They give their father credit for teaching them all the things that guys need to know to get along in the world. They can both do plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. It was so helpful to have them here to do the things that we can no longer manage. I know this is just another stage in our lives and I remember helping out my parents when they were this age. We must learn to accept help now. Ryan was glad to spend a week up here getting things done. He also got to spend time with his brother which is rare. His best friend lives in town so they had a good time. Butch even came out and helped with the work on the courtyard.
All week the weather was perfect..in the seventies but today it was gloomy and rainy. Ryan went home early today and I just took it easy.
On the way home from Erie last week I came through Allegany State Park and took a few pictures.
Update on Sadie....she did not tolerate the Lyme disease medicine and threw it up. She stopped eating and is in a lot of pain. We changed her meds but the vet wanted us to rest her stomach for a few days. And give her Pepto .bismol tablets. We are unable to get them in her. She is so wary about taking pills after years of having medications that she refuses to swallow them no matter how I hide them. Even in the pockets. She barely is eating people food she always lived before..ham and chicken. We get her to drink milk but not water. We will start the new meds tomorrow but call the vet Monday to see if we can get some more appetite stimulating pills. She can Hardly get up or walk. I carry her outside. It is so hard to see her in this shape.
John and I also dislike not being able to do the tasks that at one time we easily accomplished. I think it bothers him more then me. I am the first to call my teenage boy for a little help in the garden or house.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to see a pet in distress. It is two years since my precious Murphy died.
I remember when you were going through this with Murphy. Sadie is still so young..only 7. I keep praying that we can find a solution for her. It is so hard seeing her like this. I have called on Joan Mansour's grandson, Evan, to help me with some tasks that I can't do. Sometimes we just need a little power and strength.
Deleteoh peggy.
ReplyDeletei cried for Sadie reading this.
i used to hide zeke's pills in a little raw hamburger.
i made sure there was enough to totally cover it all. he swallowed it whole.
she just hurts so bad... poor little thing. hold her close for me too.
i know you'll keep us posted. sending love to you both. and to don too! ♥
Of course we have tried everything to get her to eat. She is so smart and realized that we were giving her the pill hiding in people food so eventually just refused because she knew she was getting sick from it. Today is much better. Yesterday we switched meds and I got the Amoxicillin in her three times by hiding it in bacon. Today I asked the vet if she could go back on her pain meds. So she is taking that along with the antibiotics. I seem to feel that she is getting a tiny, teeny bit more alert today. Keep your fingers crossed. Thank you Tammy for all your concern.
