It's a dog's life

I'm not the only one who gets cabin fever in the wintertime. Sadie is bored too. When you have a dog as smart as Sadie you feel she needs entertained. In the fair weather we take daily walks which get her out of the house and make her more content. And she can sit in the back window and watch squirrels scamper around the yard. But in the winter there are not such amusements. She is extremelly happy when she gets to go for a ride and loved going down to Chris' last weekend. She knows when we get to the road before Chris' road and practically goes through the car window with her feet up on the dash. And when we get there she remembers where he put the laser light and begs us to get it out for her.

Did I mention that she also recognizes car makes and models? She saw a blue van in the driveway from the workers and was sure that Chris was here. She also knows my friend Linda's car when she pulls onto our road and goes crazy. And always barks when Don's truck comes down our lane.

Sadie adds so much joy to our lives but I wish that we could provide more entertainment for her this winter. Ah, if we were only younger.

  1. what a smart little doggie!!!!

and you are sweet owners, being worried about her having enough stimulation and activity. which is wonderful. I do believe that all pet owners, should be caring. but we all know, that is not always the case. -sigh-

I'm sure Sadie is very content, being with you.
