Sadie still isn't getting better. We've had her on Lyme disease mess since July 1 st. She still is walking stiffly and lethargic. So today we took her to the vet. Since our vet is in Haiti on a missionary trip we went to the next town to Dr. Flaig. I really liked him. He did a good checkup and I took all her health history written down with all her test results. He decided that the meds for Lyme were not doing any good or she would have improved by now so she won't be taking that anymore. He put her on pain medication. He said it looks like she hurts on all her legs. We will try this for ten days and look for improvement. By that time my regular vet will be back. The vet did do blood work and the liver functions which were down last time we're back up. We will continue her liver meds.
peggy...
ReplyDeleteplease try one more thing! when i went grain free and sugar free... ALL joint pain LEFT! it did.
it helps with humans and joint pain. surely it could help with little Sadie.
there is a dog food now with NO grains in it. most all others have grain of some type.
it might make all the difference. and it is surely better than lots of meds.
though keeping her pain free is the most important thing... however it's done.
still... the grain free food might work well. her little face shows pain to me. xoxo♥
Bless her sweet little heart! It hurts so much to see her hurt, I know. I hope there is some improvement soon. Is there a university veterinary school near you? After losing a corgi years ago when the vets here were baffled, we decided that in the future we would take ours to Knoxville's UT veterinary school clinic.
ReplyDeleteThey tense up so when in pain, so I hope the new meds help.
Love to Sadie,
Dewena
