It's time for reading

I love January. The cold is a good excuse to sit and read. With my funky eye I have drastically cut down on the books I read I find that if I open a book and it reads like every other book I've read I don't bother continuing. I need a really good story to keep me going. I'm looking for one like The help. One that you can't put down. Any suggestions?

    books are my friends.
i cannot imagine my world without them.
i read for many reasons. too much to go into here!
i haven't read one that "i simply can't put down!" in a long time.

  2. What an inspiring collection of quotes about reading by authors I know and love! I must read every day! Right now I'm rereading Dan Simmom's Hyperion/Endymion series. I read all four books again before New Year's, and then I turned right around and started rereading them again ~ a tall order since each book is about 450 pages long. I consider "The Hyperion Cantos," as the books are sometimes referred to, to be some of the finest science fiction ever written ~ possibly the finest! I don't know if SciFi appeals to you, but if it does, I highly recommend this series. Have you ever read "The Shipping News" by E. Annie Proulx? That is amazing and is set in one of my favorite places, Newfoundland. Happy reading. I hope you funky eye improves!
