Supreme!

Last night Don and I had a wonderful date. We sent to the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford campus to see Supreme Reflections, a tribute to the Supremes. We had a fantastic time.
The University was celebrating its 50 years of being in Bradford. I remember in 1963 when the campus opening with just one classroom building. Now it is a complex of dorms, classrooms, a huge theater, a new chapel and large multi purpose building and cafeteria. We are lucky to have this in our community.
To celebrate there was a sixties party in the lobby with a disco ball, hippie guitarists singing sixties songs, food and drink from the sixties such as Tang punch and pineapple upside down cake.
The performance by the Supreme Reflections was amazing. Here are the details from their program.

One of the highlights was the narrator and performer George Solomon. This singer/actor starred with many Motown legends and delighted us with a few Frankie Valley songs and dance moves.
It left us singing those sixties songs.

  1. what a fun evening!
i also live in a university town. only it's huge and has been here since the late 1800's. but there is a vibrancy about a town with a university or college in it. maybe it's the sheer energy of youth. but i think it's also the aura of a thirst and sharing of knowledge and artistic endeavors... it just permeates everything! except... they all seem to text while driving!!!! AAAGGGHHH!!!!! :D
