One of my happiest memories of school in the fifties...dancing around the May Pole. Another memory...making May cones and picking wildflowers to go in them. We hung them on a neighbor's doorknob and ran away. We learned the joy of making someone happy.
i never experienced the maypole. but i do remember making the cones out of colorful construction paper and ribbon and hanging them on the door and running away! mother always bought hersey's kisses to add to them too. it was a lovely custom. doubt people would even know what it's about today!

I'm sure it is a sweet memory.
ReplyDeleteBut like so many things, in our now collective consciousness, it has a unique history.
"What Is a May Pole?".....
More info than you wanted, probably.....

You still don't have a Link Setting, to make click-able links show up, in a different color. They show up in black, like the rest of your print.
ReplyDeleteOnly if one runs curser over such a link, does it show, that it is a link.
Just sayin'...
