For those of you who are concerned about what is going on in my life right now I thank you. I know you must be wondering what is happening with Don’s eye. He had lost the vision in the upper half of his right eye due to a stroke in his eye. They checked it in a week and it had gotten so much worse that he needed to see a neuro ophthalmologist. We spent all last week trying to get an appointment in Pittsburgh. My eye doctor made many calls and requests to Pittsburgh and Buffalo she but got no where no matter where she tried. That is the disadvantage of living in a small town. Doctors weren’t returning her calls even though she faxed all the pertinent information to them to review. Today Don told me that his vision was much worse and we went scurrying to the doctor’s office. After tests it was as we had feared. He has lost all the vision in the right eye. Our doctor recommended that we go to Pittsburgh and show up at the emergency room and we would have to be seen by a neuro ophthalmologist. Meanwhile she called the emergency room down there to tell them that she was sending us. She finally got hold of a doctor who was a friend of a local ophthalmologist and we got an appointment at his office instead. We are so grateful that he will finally be seen by someone. We have an appointment on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile Sadie is still doing poorly. She is down much of the day and only goes outside if she is forced to. We want to have surgery but are waiting to see about Don first.
This is a harrowing time. Keep us in your prayers.
We are so sorry for your health problems both Don and Sadie. It seems everything happens at once.
ReplyDeleteThank you Becky.
DeleteOh, Peggy! Harrowing is a good description! I may not have gotten on line to read your posts (life has been harrowing in a different way here), but I have kept all three of you in my thoughts and prayers.
