So very Cold

This morning was so cold and the wind blowing the snow caused such a white out I could hardly find my exit off the highway to get home. it was only fourteen degrees but felt even colder. But that didn’t stop me from going out to meet my friends.Right now I feel the need to be among friend even more than ever. I miss my best friend and try to fill the void. As I type the workers are in the kitchen working on the drywall. I decided to just have a plain painted backsplash. Maybe later I’ll find tile for it but for right now this is what I want. One thing at a time.

I think I”ll just curl up with a book this afternoon and watch the snow from inside where it’s warm. The driveway had been plowed but I have no where to go.

  1. Curling up with a good book and a cuppa coffee sounds wonderful right now! Stay warm!

  2. I've been thinking about your losing your dear friend, Peggy. I certainly understand. The two best friends I ever had in my life died unexpectedly. I didn't know them as long as you knew your friend, but I have a sense of what you are experiencing. I'm glad that you got out to spend some time with your friends this morning. It's cold here, too! I've been in the house all week, except when Terry took me to our doctor on Tuesday. And I'm skipping our "Friday Night Date Night" because I'm still dealing with vertigo! I'm fine as long as I don't move too fast, turn my head, or bend! It's been great for catching up with everyone. Enjoy your book and coffee. I'm going to have some ginger lemon tea shortly since all the coffee is now drunk! Have a warm weekend!

    1. Oh, Louise, I'm sorry to hear that you also lost friends. It is hard when you miss them so much. I have other friends but this one was my soul mate. I hope that you get your vertigo solved. That's an awful thing to have. I've had spells where i've been dizzy and it's not fun at all. I love my tea, no coffee, and my sister gave me some Stash tea...Christmas in Paris. It's delicious.

  3. Going out for meds and food, we got caught in a heavy snow squall, as well. And by the time we got there, it was clear and sunny. I understand what you went through! Glad you got there and back, ok.

Yes, it is bitter cold and you know about the wind. Brrrrrrrrrrrr....

Seems wise, to just paint the back splash now. Look for a tile you like, later. No reason that hassss to be done right nowwwww. Take your time. Get what you really want. :-)

Hope you stayed in and curled up with a book, as you said. Wise!!!!!!!!!!

    Gentle hugs,
    Tessa~

    1. It sounds like our weather seems to reach your neck of the woods, as Al Roker says. There have been a lot of decisions already made and I'm the type of person who needs to see things done before I can decorate. Choosing the paint ahead of time has been challenging. I chose some neutrals and may have to change my mind later if they don't work out.
