Willow Dale

I have often shown pictures of the Willow Dale Cemetery pond which is a stone’s throw from my house. It is a lovely little pond with ducks and in the summertime many people and children sit on the benches and feed the ducks.blogger-image--609937924

The little bridge is often used in wedding photos.

I often walked Sadie in the cemetery and around the pond.  In all season this pond was a thing of beauty.

But Mother Nature sometimes has her own way. Yesterday we were hit with a lot of rain which melted all our snow and caused flooding all over the area. The little pond was flooded and rose high over the highway which had to be closed.

And our little beautiful bridge was destroyed.

It is sad to see.

  1. I wasn't expecting that last photo, Peggy! I hope that the bridge is quickly rebuilt. The little things ARE the big things in life, Peggy. It's important to remember this.

    1. Hi again, Peggy! I've just spent an enjoyable time with a cup of coffee catching up on all your posts that I have missed. I so enjoy your blog, and I hate falling behind with my blogging friends. I don't even know where to begin, because you have shared so many interesting things!

I always enjoy your family photos and stories. They are filled with love and respect and happiness. I can't believe how quickly Sara and Sean have grown. It looks like you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with the people you love. It's great how you and your sisters get together to enjoy time doing the things you enjoy ~ not to mention all you do with your giggle girls and coffee girls.

I love seeing all your decorations and how you keep switching things about. Last year when I was living in a trailer in Bullhead City, I bought a small tree for Christmas from Amazon. It traveled with us to Surprise this year. My decorating skills can be summed up with "Have Tree. Will Travel."

I always enjoy learning your word for the year, and "intention" is an excellent choice. I was anxious too much last year, so my word for this year is "calm." There is a lot in my life that I can't control, so I'm going to work on my reaction to things that set me back. I'm wishing you success as you tackle the new year with intention.

How fortunate you are to have three "Tool Guys" in Don, Chris, and Ryan. My Terry is awesome, but no one would describe him as a "Mr. Fix It." He is my rock and my shelter. We're going to Hawaii shortly, and I was horrified by the false missile alert there yesterday. I kept trying to imagine how I would have reacted in that situation, especially since I am so familiar with the Waikiki area. It's impossible, other than knowing I would want Terry to hold me in his arms as we faced the end.

I laughed when you said that your cookie recipes make too many cookies. I have the same problem with my cookie recipes ~ LOL! You certainly spread a lot of joy with your culinary efforts. The cauliflower reminded me of the roasted, cheese-topped cauliflower that appears on the table during so many holiday feasts in my family.

You continue to exemplify life-long learning. I enjoy rooting for you as you strive to improve your photography which is always in your plans. I'm really encourage you to tackle that autobiography! Perhaps you could share some of your life story in posts the way I have been doing on my blog. That way people can enjoy it as you write, and you can tackle it in manageable pieces. You only read two books in four days? Wow! I can't read that quickly! I guess I don't sit down and read enough. I have finished two fat books on the Halifax explosion in the past couple of weeks. Good luck in all you undertake this year.

Odds are pretty good that Terry and I will buy a place in Sun City Grand in Surprise, Arizona. If we do move there, I will be joining its French Language group that gets together every Monday. I hope you go to Paris ~ No time like the present! Sending you hugs and wishing you and Don well in 2018!

I looked at your list of 18 things for 2018.
