Why are we our own worst critics? For so many years I would not pick up a paintbrush because I couldnt produce the effect I wanted. I did not realize that I could have my own style. And if I practiced I could make art. Having art class has given me some confidence in my abilities and I look forward to Tuesdays.
I'm glad that you are indulging in art, Peggy. I have to tamp down my inner critic all the time. I feel about Italy the way you feel about France. I think about learning to paint frequently, but I can't seem to get beyond writing, photography, and working out. I thought that at this point in my retirement I'd be speaking a foreign language, playing a musical instrument, have published my book, have corralled my photo collection, be skinny and gorgeous, be painting masterpieces, and have a wonderful slimmed down house, and have visited all seven continents. LOL
